Meet the tutor

I’m Becca (often known as Becca Buttons) founder of Sew Mindful at The Fold, Bransford, Worcestershire.

Since I was first introduced to a needle and thread and a bit of binca aged 6 I have been hooked on sewing. The magic of turning a scrap of fabric into something to wear or use never fades. I got my first very own sewing machine at 21 and have barely stopped making, repurposing and mending since.

I am a bit of a hoarder and love finding old fabric and vintage haberdashery and other items in charity shops and flea markets. I also paint and love to use these finds in my paintings.

Who am i?

When not stitching or painting, I love to be outdoors in my overgrown garden tending the vegetables and wildlife or walking my dog Magnus. In the evenings I’m often out on a dance floor somewhere, Lindy Hopping to some fabulous swing jazz tunes.

As a qualified teacher, I have nearly 30 years of experience teaching all age groups and all abilities including those with specific needs. I love to help other people learn new skills or refresh old ones and I still enjoy learning new skills myself.
