Overlocker intro for the terrified Sunday
Dates/Times
1 sessions of 3 hours
Sunday 1st November
What to expect
Toying with the idea of getting an overlocker? Already got one but too scared to get it out of the box? This course could be for you. This is an intensive 3 hour course for those who have never used an overlocker before or have not used one for a while.
By the end of this course you will be confident in doing a 4-thread overlock, a 3-thread overlock and a rolled hem, adjusting the tensions and differential feed and altering the stitch length. You will learn how to manipulate woven and stretch fabric through the overlocker to join or finish straight and curved seams beautifully. You will also learn how to hem using an overlocker. You will be shown how to remove the cutting blade so the machine does not cut the fabric as it stitches too.
To put your new confidence to practice, you will make a stretchy jersey headband to take home.
Print outs with glossaries and guidance will be given out and you will go home with examples to use as references for future projects.
What to bring?
Just your lovely self and your enthusiasm. All materials will be provided as will the use of our fantastic Janome overlockers.
If you would rather learn alone at your own pace or if you wish to have help learning how to use your own overlocker then a one-to-one lesson can be booked
