Beginners Dress making in a Weekend
2 sessions of six hours (plus lunch)
– Saturday 22nd August 10am – 4pm
– Sunday 23rd August 10am – 4pm
£120
What to expect
Over the weekend you be guided through the process of making yourself a classic A-line dress or top. We will be using the Trapeze pattern from Merchant and Mills. This pattern has the option to add sleeves of different lengths, have buttons down the back or not and have at a variety of lengths. You can choose which version you wish to make depending on experience and ambition.
This course is suitable for absolute beginners. We will go through all the techniques needed and you will be given support at every stage in the construction from choosing your size, cutting out, sewing together and finishing seams.
The cost of this course includes a pdf or paper copy of the pattern.
What to bring?
Machines and equipment will be provided. You will just need to choose some lovely fabric to make your dress in, interfacing, matching thread and buttons if required. On booking, you will receive details on what fabric to bring (pre-washed). No need to bring your own sewing machine (unless you would prefer to).
Please note that everyone works at a different rate. We will endeavour to ensure that everyone completes their trousers within the three sessions but we cannot guarantee this.
